Up for auction is my custom Fender P/MM 4 string bass. This is an original Japanese Made Squire P bass. It looks feels and plays like a genuine 80 s Japanese P bass. I had a professional guitar tech install a Seymour Duncan Alnico (not cheaper ceramic version) (Bassline) MM style Pickup and 3 band active EQ system. Other than that this bass is completely original. The bass has it s usual nicks and dents, but nothing extreme. No buckle rash. (I play with my bass above my belt buckle) I m playing more Hard Rock/Metal these days, so I am selling this to buy a more edgie style bass like BC Rich/Ibanez/ESP, etc. (no trades thanks) The neck is straight and has a fairly low action. The finish on the neck is Gloss. As you can see the neck is Maple/Rosewood with the usual Fender Skunk stripe and original Fender Tuners. The Body is made of Swamp Ash and is heavier than your typical P bass. (Feels very Solid and sounds Punchy) I used this bass primarily as my slap Jazz/blues bass, so I kept the action medium/low but not too low. The frets are in good shape with very minor ware. As you can see from the photos, the installation of the pickup was done well and looks factory. It is positioned in a perfect position (in my opinion) Not as nasally as a Music Man Bass, and very full and punchy. The Seymour Duncan 3 band active EQ makes is easy to dial in just about any tone you want. The bass cost me $300 two years ago, and the Seymour Duncan Pickup and EQ cost me more than th ...
