For sale is this 2007 Gibson custom shop historic (not VOS) 1965 firebird guitar. This is probaly one of the best examples I have seen and have had the pleasure to own. These custom shop Firebirds are made in runs and sometimes if you order one it could take a year.When I purchased this one I had called every Gibson historic dealer in the U.S. and only one dealer had one.This one comes in the most requested color of vjntage sunburst, has banjo tuners, high gloss finish, maestro bar, COA, Gibson Historic black case, plekked frets( no string buzzing whatsoever) and all case candy. I did have some mods done to it that needed to be done, sort of like an upgrade to make it play and sound more authentic to the real deal.The bridge that came on it is always an issue with these guitars thast have the maestro bar. When you use the Mestro bar the strings in the saddles get stuck and lift some of the saddles out of thier seating position. The only way to correct that was to replace with a tonepros bridge with graphite saddles so now the strings slide through the slots in the saddle with no issues whatsoever and the bridge has two allen screws on the side to lock the bridge on to the posts.. Pickups were replaced with Lollar mini humbucking pickups. These pickups put the stock ones to shame and made the guitar sound so much better. These upgrades cost around 400.00.
